This is what David Nghiepunduka, the owner of Peace Garden Lodge has succeeded to do in designing his welcoming guest lodge which is more of an African village.
It was formerly known as Lala Panzi Lodge had 13 rooms only when Nghiepunduka took over and added 35 more rooms.

The place was officially renamed Peace Garden Lodge after its launch on 4 November.
In addition to the rooms, the guest house has two conference facilities, two thatched swimming pools, a restaurant, bar and a camping site for adventurous guests.
The name Peace Garden Lodge really suits the quiet and relaxed environment surrounding the area which makes you feel like at home.

Peace Garden Lodge is situated about 5 km South-West of Grootfontein.
I stayed at Peace lodge for two nights and really enjoyed my stay. From when we arrived, I was warmly welcomed by a very respectful and humble receptionist, Jankie Jankie. I had been to different lodges but the reception we got from Jankie was just outstanding as he kept on referring to each of us as “Sir” after every sentence, which made me feel important and welcomed.

After signing in for accommodation, I was escorted by a lady who gave me keys to my room – Room number one – a luxury single/double room with two beds and ensuite facilities, air conditioning, DSTV, coffee and a small fridge.

The bath-room was clean and spacious, with everything you would expect, including practically guaranteed hot water (as each bedroom unit seems to have its own hot water and heater.
Food was served in the main building’s dining room. Although I was bothered by the delays from the waiters in bringing food after placing my order, the food was well cooked with enough variety over our short stay to keep us happy.

Peace Garden Lodge, from my experiences, appears to be a mix of traditional and western style comfort.
By spreading the accommodation in cottages throughout large grounds in a circular set up and a limited number of main house rooms, it gives the impression of being a village compound.
For those who may want to live the fast city life and settle for a peaceful and value for money vacation, they should try Peace Lodge Gardens and experience a change.
